Help me im in love and need advice?

ok i just got a new and every one always says wow its him again dating another girl. is it ok for me to tell him not to tell anyone for now, im in middle school so be appropiate plz. and like my ex is his bff and he keeps makin lies up about my bf, and i think hes jealous and he dont even know were datin. so is it ok for me to tell him not to tell anyone?????????
